LAKE ISABELLA, Calif. – While firefighters were battling to control the nearly 10,000 acre Canyon Fire last week, Verizon repair crews were already at work – with fire command approval – assessing damage and taking steps to restore service to customers in and around the community of Clear Creek, near Lake Isabella.
